Any 'U' Code Owners?

Any 'U' Code Owners? - 02/16/23 11:22 PM

Referring to 1970 Cuda owners. I know the numbers are low, but I'm hoping to find some kin! There were 334 four speeds and 618 autos produced. Anyone? From what I remember, for $90. extra, you could get the six barrel option. Most opted for this. In 1971 the single 4 bbl. 440 wasn't even offered! End of today's Mopar lesson kiddies.

Had one up to a few years ago, parted it for the dana for my now sold V code. Was in decent shape and I never knew the low numbers or I might not of. Still got the 4 speed from it... offered a guy on here the rest of the parts from the car but never heard nothing so between the dumpster and metal recycle center its history.

Friend has a B5 U code auto car.

A buddy has a 70 U Code Cuda, it was a factory F8 green automatic car, but it's been a painted white race car for years.
It literally still has the ladder link rear suspension under the back of it, vintage stuff. laugh2

I’ve got one. It’s vitamin C, auto, air conditioner, power brakes and steering with the optional 3.55 gear. It’s a project car but a nice rust free Texas car. It’s been off the road and in a friend’s garage since 1978. I bought it a couple of years ago.

I have this U-code, custom painted in 1971. I chased it from 1987 until being able to purchase it in 2016 from the original owner's family.

Three out by me that are owned by friends. Two four speeds and one automatic 4.10 dana car. Several more through out the years have been in and out of the area.

My friend had a 70 U code automatic car that he brought back from California. It was plum crazy purple . He sold it to buy a 70 V code Cuda from a member on here.

Seen bunch over the years, only had a couple H codes myself. I've had 1/2 dozen 71-72 b-body U code cars. I prefer the b-body cars more because the seating was more comply, better weight balance and offered four times the trunk space.

I went to high school in WV with a guy who had one with a shaker and 4 speed. I bought my first road runner from him and he put the money toward the 'cuda.

I don't know how many white 'cudas there were around here, but I think this is where it ended up.

I never found a broadcast sheet. However I do have other nice dealership paperwork for the car and a photo or two when the car was new.

This is my 1970 Cuda 440 with bench seat and column shift....EF8 with green interior. I bought It a few years ago from its second owner who purchased it in 1971. These pictures are from the day that I went to look it over. It was being kept at a storage unit.
