We used to call the roundy-pounder pits "park 'n fight".

Chain races, train races, school bus races, figure-8s.

It sure aint Formula 1 or LeMans, but it sure can be fun to watch on a Friday night....

Reminds me of a line I heard after a high school football game:

We lost the game but we won the fight in the parking lot.

LMAO, Bowman Gray, right down here in Winston-Salem, NC. 1/4-mile track and it has be about like racing around the inside of a cereal bowl. Doesn't look like that class of racing exactly draws North Carolina's finest. Even better, the fan in the stands jumping up and down at the sight of the fight. laugh2

That reminds me of the good old days when they raced circle track at Santa Clara Fair Grounds in the 1980's for Srint, modified and the ever popular 'San Jose Mile' Events. We used to joke around about who was gonna get mad at Sargent/Smith/Bubba/Ricky/etc and the pit pounder party when the loser/winner came in and the group tussle would get to nearly 10 guys and a few chicks made racing the dirt even more entertaining.
