Page B3 of Sunday Wall Street Journals

had software that “cheated” on emissions.
Chrysler stated “no additional recalls needed” with this fine.

Be very careful. This conversation will end up in the non-moderated section shortly. As a nation, we are equally concerned about how many "emissions" come out of a cow.

this may chiefly be related to the EcoDiesel models

Then it's probably not a good idea to bring up the fact that ethanol fuel is more harmful to the environment that straight gasoline

The fine surely is more than the company made on those relatively few vehicles

I agree.

Stockholders probably lost multiple thousands of $ per engine on those VM Motori diesels with this fine plus warranty costs.
Vehicle owners lost on resale value.
The MPG gain nearly wiped out by added cost of ULSD

That is the sad part and a portion of the fine should got to those vehicle owners IMO. And when I say portion, I am not saying 200.00. I am saying whatever their loss was/is. If there's money left over, then let the fed's keep it, if not, Divide it up equally amongst the poor sob's that got stuck by buying the POS. twocents beer

Once of my friends just bought a new Jeep with the EcoDiesel. Loves it. His previous ride was a Ram with the EcoDiesel. Loved it too. shruggy
