Question for computer experts

I have a Dell Latitude laptop that was given to me. It has Windows 7 on it. A while back it started showing a low battery warning window every time I would start it or wake it from hibernation. I have tried every solution to stop the window from popping up that I could find on the internet to no avail. The only thing I haven't done is disable the Dell Feature Enhancement Pack which I'm pretty sure would get rid of the warning but there are other features of the enhancement pack that I want to retain. I would appreciate any suggestions (hopefully that I haven't tried yet) on how to stop the warning window from popping up as it is very annoying.

Sounds like it's time fopr a new battery.

I had the exact same problem and after online searching, it seemed that the only fix was a new battery.
Got one on Amazon and no more warnings

There's actually nothing wrong with the battery according to the battery meter and I seldom use it on battery power anyway. It is plugged in 99% of the time.

if it is a windows notification then you can turn it off using the instructions above.

Time for a battery. I also have a Lattitude that was showing batt warnings even though it was plugged in 99% of the time(linux OS) Eventually the batt showed 7% charge and started blinking the batt light even though it was plugged in. As stated above a $20 cheapy batt from Amazon.....all fixed.

Leaving them plugged in all the time kills the battery over time. The battery needs to cycle.

The high percentage is similar to a mirage.

I tried this and it shows that low battery notifications are turned off both for when it's on battery power or plugged in. The notification still pops up.

you might try launching task manager when the next pop up comes up.
you can see if it will tell you what is executing when it happens.
see if it really is your dell addon's.

Windows 11 system came out today

Basically letting me know , if I want to operate on Windows 11 , I need a new Computer

And my HP All In One is only 4 years old

The very reason I bailed on Windows for my personal laptop years ago. If you're just doing basic stuff like internet,email, simple office docs, etc,...download and install Linux Mint(I haven't found much it won't run) Simple, lightweight,safe(no AV needed),stable OS. Did I mention....free??? Runs perfect on this Dell Latitude that was originally a......wait for it......Vista machine!!!!!!

I have several that don't meet the hardware requirements, They're just too old and don't have secure boot.. But I have 3 newer Dells of the same model, one of them for whatever reason didn't have TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 enabled in the bios. I suspect that's the problem with yours as well. I just went in there and enabled it and all is well. I've been running Win 11 on 5 computers for about 6 weeks so far. The only real benefit for me at least is losing the infernal live tiles.

By default the start menu is in the middle of the taskbar, very first thing I did was to move it back to the left side of the taskbar. Windows explorer has some "enhancements" I'm not too fond of, other than that I like it pretty well.. I wish they'd put the ability to launch task manager back on the taskbar.

I looked for that TPM thru the BIOS last night , in the security tab
Couldn’t find it

Then went into Device Manager
Couldn’t find it

So it never existed on older computers ?

After some more research
If you bought your PC after 2016, it almost certainly comes with TPM 2.0. If your computer is older than a few years, it likely either has the older TPM 1.2 version (which Microsoft says is not recommended for Windows 11) or has no TPM at all.

Microsoft eventually created a “Live USB” version of Windows 10 that you could try out on older computers, similar to the many Live Linux CD/DVD/USB versions that have been around since year 2000 or so.

Has anyone seen a link to a Live Windows 11 yet?
