All that needs for completion is a gallon of gas and a match that works. puke

Much more interesting than the three local old guys that claim to have "Rat Rods"...all three are S10 Chevys with the front sheetmetal removed and a tractor nose hung in front of the radiator. All stock V6, stock interior, etc.

Just needs a big roof wing for the Sprint car series...

I like the theme but it's definitely unfinished. Maybe a paint job and wing would improve my experience?

It definitely has a sat night dirt track vibe. Never been a fan of laying frame but kinda dig it.

Not bad. I like the theme.

Owner/builder is a friend of mine. Extremely talented young guy. He bought the race chassis from another friend and put it together in short time. It’s very light, very low, wicked handling and fast. Small block Mopar that doesn’t make gobs of power, but gets the job done.

Several of us have stated that. My opinion is a cheap dark gray paint job, I think he’s considering some action in that department.

Re: Dodge pickup build --different - 07/25/21 07:22 PM

I like the truck, though I'd do a couple things differently.
Nevertheless, the dude actually built it, I'm just commenting.
I couldn't do that to a 2nd-gen Charger, though; but maybe its floors and rails were rusted out ?

Re: Dodge pickup build --different - 07/25/21 08:06 PM

I have been throwing around the idea of building a rally course truck for a couple of years. I like the idea of using a race car chassis, but I wouldn't cut the body that low, it looks like a cross between a Rat Rod and circle track car.

Re: Dodge pickup build --different - 07/25/21 08:24 PM

Back in the day when Mopar offered the Chrysler kit car for dirt track racing, the put curved sheet metal pieces on the front fenders above the tires. Its really about how high or low you wanted the body sheet metal to sit, and a lot of that depended on the track you ran.

Cover the top of the front fenders, paint it, with a number on it, and drive the wheels off of it. I like the vibe. Gene

I like it. Reminded me of this '83 that I shot at the Carlisle Truck Nats last year.

Considering I'm undertaking my first ever Dodge truck project.... I can safely say that one does nothing for me.

That's not to disparage that a LOT of work, skill and creativity went into it. I mean, if dude used his powers for good instead of evil....
But sadly, it does nothing for me.

That truck is EXACTLY what came to my mind when I first saw this. That truck was awesome!! I drooled over it at the Truck Nats last year for quite a while drool

Personally, I dig the one in this post, too. Looks like a blast to drive!

Finnegan's Charger has been at KSR Racing's garage in Gainesville here of late having a bunch of stuff done to it.

It will be interesting to see what they do to it.
