Unfortunately we will not have a Spring show this year.

LA parks are not open and other locations that are close enough to manage are not open either or cannot commit in these uncertain times.

We are hoping for a Fall Fling if governments will allow it

Pomona Swap meet, LA auto show, Grand National show, CA Good Guys events.... all have canceled until further notice. Or tentative/cautious fall date or just next year.

Of course, within this mess are particular cities and counties interpreting and treating things different.

The new MCG shows an April date. Rob will need to change/correct it.

Would like to do that too. Just donā€™t want to be the first one back at this point. Already tried that once.

Orange County is having their Inland Valley Mopars show. If you tried harder, you could get it done.

Yes, we want to get it done at Fall Fling and try for 2 days

Inland show is on private property with special club member connection.. Smaller area than we require. 70 miles away. In San Bernardino County.

We lost money trying harder to put on two Mopar shows so far.

We put on two shows a year. So rather than postponing it, pushing the dates closer and stepping on other Mopar club shows... we will just do the second and try to make it two days.

Being out of the loop, us NON CPW club members have no inside information as to what you are dealing with. It is almost like having a loved one in a hospital during this Covid BS....The only way we can stay informed is by someone on the inside since we can't be there to see it for ourselves.
In 2006 your club moved from Woodley to the facility across the street when heavy rain left the city park grounds soaked. I'm guessing that you looked into that venue and it didn't pan out?

The City of LA and LA county continue to be locked down. Add to that I would imagine the City of LA is not exactly car friendly. Up hill battle for the CPW.

As a side note Phoenix Mopars Unlimited had a cruz-in last Saturday. Scheduled 9to noon. I was told car count was around 133, with around half being late model cars.

Understood. No hard feelings. And I try to reply to these inquiries as soon as I can.

...the park we moved to across the street in 2006 was another LA City Parkā€™s Dept park. All City and County facilities are closed with no reservations for opening dates. We looked into Private Golf Courses and Universities and a no go our event. And other stuff too.

The six flags magic mountain has a drive-thru only car event. Put on by West Coast Custom...$50 per car driving in. Canā€™t get out of car and itā€™s $50. Weā€™ll pass a putting on a event there. eek eyes

https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/events/cruisn-the-park-car-show

And I swear it was $80 when it was first announced. work

Canā€™t say as I blame you. Seems most of the membership of this club is getting up in years. With that there are more and more members trading in gin their older cars for the newer hot rods. Tired of bending over fenders. I opted to not rejoin the club this year. Theyā€™ve had one event besides the Cruz. Of course at that event the majority of cars that showed were new models. They met at a park in south Phoenix and was suppose to cruise up to an event in north Phoenix. When they hit the freeway all the newer cars took off leaving the older cars behind. Not my idea of of a club event when everybody scatters in the Phoenix traffic. Of course those same members seem content on driving to a parking lot, popping their hoods and sitting back in their lawn chairs.

I appreciate the work you and the other members of CPW are doing to try and put on a fun show. I personally have not been to a car meet since November of 2019 and can't find any shows with classic cars in my area with muscle cars in a reasonable schedule. Crazy family is freaked out, so I don't go anywhere (and being sheltered in ain't helping the pudgy parts either).
