93 cents per gallon gasoline - 04/15/20 01:16 AM

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/gas-prices-average-drop-kentucky-station-us/

Sample quote

If you've noticed gas prices falling dramatically in the last weeks, it's not unique to your city or even state. Kentucky was the first state in the US to see fuel prices drop under $1 per gallon, then Ohio has beat the record, but Kentucky stole it back on April 10.

After a station in Cleveland, Ohio, sold gas for 94 cents per gallon, a station in Kentucky took the crown with an advertised gas price for 93 cents per gallon, according to Gas Buddy. Incredibly, the price at the Cleveland-based station was actually up from March 29, when it sold a gallon of gas for just 89 cents.

In London, Kentucky, a BP gas station officially changed its digital marquee to advertise a gallon of gas for just 99 cents on March 19, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.

We would be at 99 cents a gallon if it wasn't for the 18 cents per gallon tax put on us January 1st. I am leaving on Thursday from Chicago to Georgia to Florida then up to Arkansas so I will be keeping an eye on the prices!

'Cuz, y'know, it's all about the being able to pull your holiday trailer or garden tractor 2 times a year..........oh, and that 35mpg mythical Cummins that I never seemed to get out of the 3 that We owned. (16mpg at best) wink

Here in Wash St we pay $0.68 tax per gallon and about $0.49 per gallon in gouging fees. Our cheapest gas right now is $2.159 at Costco.

Sure you do...........Goof. twocents

Tell us you do it at 90mph uphill all the way while you're at it. rolleyes

I guess it's time all these Class 8's traded their 4.5mpg ISX Peterbilts and Volvos off for Dodges so they can make some real money.

Here in the People's Socialist Republic, cheapest I've seen is 95.7 cents per litre.
That equates to about $2.18 per gallon in real money. But, it's still a nice reprieve from the crazy prices we were paying just a few months ago. But with all these travel restrictions and no car shows or anything.... the point is kind of moot. Nowhere to go. If Kenosha is cancelled this year, I'm going to be pissed. But it's not 'til July, so I'm still hanging on to my hotel reservation.

Same ol' Griz. laugh2

Haven't been out since last week for groceries but it was $112.9 at the Kroger near the house. Sam's Club near the Mall is usually several cents cheaper. With our 50 cents off discount it would have been sweet but we were in wifey's car so we just used the 3 cent discount to top it off.
Wondering where it will go after this mess is over.... frown

yup. besides sales tax, delivery tax, county taxes, and such, the State used to charge us 19 cents/gallon "gas tax" but doubled it in this years budget (fiscal yr starts July 1) and I thought it took effect July 1 of last year but it was a 2 part whammy, some fees, fines and taxes went up then, others went up 1/1/20 like Rhinodart said.... they jacked title transfers when you but a vehicle by $50 per transaction in July, (now $150) OLUS now starting 1/1, it is now $151 to renew the license plates on your daily driver..... the lightest GVW of trailers ("TA plates") were $18 last year, $118 this year..... all trailers went up $100 over what they gouged us for last year for same renewal..... while Wisconsin doesn't even require plates at all on small trailers (under 3000 GVW)

Re: 93 cents per gallon gasoline - 04/15/20 11:25 PM

I bought some for 1.35 today. As far as our Governor goes she " that woman from Michigan" as our President refers to her won in 2018 by getting 53 percent of the vote. She wants to fix our poor roads but realizes that it takes money to do that. Maybe if we all get together and hope real hard they will fix themselves. And thanks to the poster in Florida being concerned about us in Michigan.

And you tax is still cheaper than it is in California. If get ever became $1 or less here, I think I would buy everyone in my a full family a tank of gas with the stimulus money and a ‘Don’t hug a tree til you wash your hands’ t-shirt.

Incorrect. Washington State is second only to PA for highest gas tax. I think there are portions of California that are higher, but not statewide.

The Washington St government has figured out how to FEE us without calling it a tax.

My Suzuki 650 scooter I must pay a $25 Weight Fee that says it has a GVW of 1800 pounds.

I'm 57 and when I worked at a gas station as a teen pumping gas it was about $0.75-0.80!

I remember when I was 7 (good ole 1969) as my dad drove by a gas station that had raised prices from like $0.30 to $0.33 he was cursing like a sailor about how high the gas prices were smile

FWIW,
Near Greensboro, NC most regular gasoline is selling for $1.53. But there are a few stations here and there at $1.35. Sam's club and CostCo are $1.49
I imagine some are getting contract priced gas (set weeks ago) and a few are buying it at spot prices. Nobody driving, no demand.

Where are you old gEeZeRs that can confirm less than 20 cents per ?

Back in the early 70s .... gas wars in Michigan... around Warren and Telegraph... THIS WAS FEATURED on 60 Minutes..... gas was 18 cents per ... 260 Sunoco was 22 cents .....

So my GRANDFATHER told me ... smoke
