69 b body dash wiring harness question - 11/21/11 01:27 PM

Was the only tape used on this harness the non-adhesive (electric tape type)? My harness looks original and is all wrapped in non-adhesive, except the final 12-18 or so inches going to the bulkhead connector that is in black cloth tape. the black cloth tape is very old. assume that the cloth tape probably was added some time ago with some repair? figured I would ask before removing the cloth tape and rewrapping the harness end with non-adhesive....

Thanks

The black cloth "friction" tape was used on wiring harness,so it's probably correct. I'd have to look at mine to be sure You can still buy the cloth tape if you need to re-wrap it.

I think the harness to the rear lights is cloth wrapping too?

that last bit was cloth tape from the factory. I basically looks like the tape you use to wrap hockey sticks and I think that is what most people have been using to rewrap that bit of the harness.

The rear harness on my 69 charger is a weaved cloth string type which is not reproduced to my knowledge.

I've owned 4 b-bodys with original harnesses and they all were like yours.
