Road Wheel Finish

I've started cleaning up a set of 14" road wheels and was wondering if the spokes are supposed to be polished or left a dull sheen finish. Also is the black insert to be gloss or satin finish. Thanks

If they are original wheels you can try to polish but the spokes will never have a real shine like chrome. The black paint is not quite high gloss but is not satin. About 15 - 20% flattened.

I guess ive learned that the sequence of shine goes like this...

GLOSS - SATIN - SEMI GLOSS - FLAT.

Im sure others will chime in to correct

or maybe even agree

The spokes are a matte chrome. I don't think that's done anymore. The back of the wheels should also be painted black.

Hmmmmmm IMO: HIGH GLOSS, GLOSS, SEMI-GLOSS, SATIN, SEMI-FLAT, FLAT, ULTRA-FLAT...............

Fixed it, forgot HIGH GLOSS, hmmmmmmmm wonder if there is an ULTRA-HIGH GLOSS

yeh, thats the one where you paint without a mask in an non ventilated room! Sure to get an "ultra high" there.
