Source for station wagon seat covers - 11/03/11 05:54 PM

I need to replace the front seat cover on my 68 Coronet wagon.
Does anybody know where a guy could dig up one that closely matches the original cover?
I tried Dante but he can't get them unfortunately.
Thanks for any help!

Either see if the companies Dante deal with will make you a cover if you send in yours as a pattern or take it to a local upholstery shop , 4 doors are not big on the resto scene .

I sent my original 63 savoy wagon inserts into SMS in Oregon, They made new ones of my originals and now offer them to everyone. You may want to give them a try and see if they can duplicate yours or possibly offer NOS or repos of them.

Having owned a 68 Coronet 440 wagon I would recomend a local upholstery shop.

The seats have very simple stitching and no embossing. A good shop should be able to match them easliy.

Are you keeping the interior gold?

You might try Original Auto Interiors in MI. A couple of years ago they had NOS seat covers for my '64 Savoy wagon; they installed just fine. They apparently have a stash of leftover NOS covers. They and SMS in OR have original material as well.

If the covers are still decent enough for a pattern, Legendary will make them for you. I had a friend send them a interior to a 1965 New Yorker and they made a perfect set of covers for it. They might not be cheap, but if anyone was going to make it as correct as possible, they would be the ones to do it.
