Fender Pentastars...what are the correct applications? - 10/21/11 10:25 PM

I have several NOS pentastars. a few original early metal ones, some plastic ones that are cad plated all over with a gasket on the back side, and plastic plated on the outside surface only. What years are they correct for?

My 1971 'Cuda has one for sure. Lower right hand front quarter panel. I can't tell you what the original color was because it is worn down. 09JUL71 build date.

72 was the changeover year. I guess the plants just used up their supplies and some cars had them, some didnt. I think 68 was the first year for the plastic ones.

...and trucks and vans:

Chrysler did bring them back in the '90s, too. I had a '94 Intrepid ES with one and '95 Neons used them.

Well, a certain '72 challenger I used to own had the gold pentastar on the lower right front fender. Car was original paint so I'm guessin' it was there from the factory.
