Reverse dash lamp and back up lights

Reverse dash lamp and back up lights - 09/12/11 08:44 PM

69 Coronet 4 speed.When I put it into reverse the dash lamp and back up lights are on,but when I take my hand off the shifter they go out.If I hold it in reverse they work fine.Is there an adjustment to tighten this up?Do I need a new back up light switch?

Double check your 4 speed linkage adjustment..
The internal reverse lever mechanism needs to push hard up against switch..
Sometimes just a slight adjustment lengthening the reverse rod will do it..
