We have a 71 Barracuda 383/4sp car in our shop that the customer say is an original shaker hood/ rear louver car. Unfortunately the fender tag and build sheets are long gone so I'll never know for sure but could you get louvers and a shaker on a Barracuda ?

I like these odd car and even though the tag and sheet are missing I wish the owner would at least make it look stock but hes stuck on adding Cuda emblems, gilled febders and a 440 6bbl.

Yes, they were both available on a 383+4 Barracuda in 1971. The louvers were way more common on base model Barracuda's, I have a set on my 71 Gran Coupe. The shaker was available but only on a 383+4 equipped car. As far as I know, none were ever made, but that was as of a few years ago, one may have surfaced in the last few years. Too bad there is no tag or sheet to prove his statement.

Just what the world needs, another e body 440-6 clone.

exactly, and its not even a correct one. Kinda a "this is your 71 6bbl cuda on drugs during the late 70s" theme, LOL

O'well, to each there own.

At least it's a 1971. I have a customer that wants his 1974 360 Cuda modified into a 1974 440+6 Shaker car....I think it's going to look awesome however I would personally prefer a stone stock 360 Cuda resto....

Currently (Pretty busy at AGAR these days) I'm also working on an original 1970 383 4spd Cuda which is getting a 440+6 and a shaker hood.

Seems to be fairly common these days....

Im starting to like the odd ball stuff much better these days. I would rather see a stock restored 71 Barracuda, 71 slant six Dart or 383 Satellite then another Cuda clone. Nothing wrong with cudas, clones or modified cars but its nice to see something different.

So the way I'm reading this the shaker related parts are gone and he's thinking it might have had one ??? ...Things at a quick glance....Look at the firewall and see if it has the original hole cut for the shaker cable to pass through...Then look under the dash and see if there's evidence of the cable being mounted there... Those are always a quick way to see if the claims might have any merit...

One of the lowest production Cuda's ever built, especially if it's a 4 speed

The car still has the hood on it. It now has a 6bbl shaker bubble though. I will check for the cable and holes as soon as I drag the car out of the corner of the shop.

You could also look to see if the car has 3spd wipers and if they look as if they've never been swapped out...
