64 plymouth police car? - 08/08/11 04:02 AM

Saw a 4 door savoy, belvidere, or something this evening for sale and stopped to check it out. The vin starts with 39 which I have decoded to be a police car? It has a 383 call out on the hood but I didn't crawl under the front of it. I did see that it has the small rear. I was curious how rare the car may be and what is part of the police package. Thanks, Jon

May have 11" brakes, according to my FSM.

I sold this one in '08. Rubber floor mat, "39" VIN, certified speedometer, 11" brakes, sway bar, 383 HP engine and 3 on the tree! Came from a VA state Police auction long ago.

Got a better look at it tonight. Turns out it does have an 8 3/4. 383 2 bbl, front sway bar, and cert speedo. Had the rubbber mat too. I don't think it was a marked car, probably used by a detective. Too bad this one was a new york car all it's life
