B Body Convertible Question

B Body Convertible Question - 06/08/11 07:30 PM

The metal inner windshield corner molding has a large hole (arrow) which lines up with a screw hole in the plastic pillar post molding (which fits over the corner piece). There is no corresponding hole in the pillar post itself. Anyone know how this works?

Doesn't your plastic pillar cover hide that hole? I can't remember if it goes over the top or under the metal piece. I can pull one out when I get home tonight if no one else can help you out...

IIRC the plastic piece goes over a portion of the metal piece and, yes, does cover the hole. There is a screw hole in the plastic piece which lines up with the hole in the pic which I assume is used to fasten the plastic piece...but not sure how since there is no hole in the pillar post itself.

The screw goes through the A pillar cover and through the hole on the reveal and picks up this clip on the side of the A pillar. Clip similar to what is used for windshield upper reveal on hardtops and coupes.
