B bdy rearview mirrors reproed? Are hardtop + vert same - 04/27/11 12:58 AM
Does anybody know if 70 Road Runner rearview mirrors are being reproduced?
Is the hardtop mirror the same as the convertible?
thanks
Tom

I've got an NOS mirror and post, problem is I do not know what it's for.
I'll take a picture this evening and post it

Tom,
I'm pretty sure I have an extra for my 68 Sport Satellite convertible. I won't be where the parts are until the first weekend in May but will look and let you know.

I bought this many years ago for my former 1969 GTX, problem is I don't remember if it was for the hardtop or the convertible I had.
It is NOS , just not 100% mint. part number written on the pkg is 2930261 BUT, it's written with a marker so I wouldn't guarentee the pt# is accurate

That is a nice mirror, I have one just like it, but I dont know where it came from...
Note the bracket the left with the visor notches reversed and second from the left with a taller bracket (maybe C Body)?.
The mirror on the right is from a early build 68 Satellite, and is stainless.

This should be #3454 875 (
composite mirror) from a '70 GTX hardtop.

Here's one in a '68 Charger.
Is this correct for the car?

70runner... interesting. Our cars should have the same shafts and base. Our bases match however there is something going on with the shaft configuration. I actually have two of the mirrors shown in my post. Both have the exact same base and shaft. One came off my 69 RR convert. The other was off a 69 GTX or Satellite convertible .. one or the other. Can anyone clear up what a 69-70 mirror assy is supposed to look like with some pictures and info?

I find it hard to believe there isn't a good understanding on the subject - (CORRECT '68-'70 b-body rear view mirrors)
--- & the parts book isn't making a convincing argument.
per the parts book:
2 different mirrors: '68-'69 VS. '70
2 different "bracket & shaft" for convertibles: '68 VS. '69-'70
2 different "bracket & shaft" finishes: convertible "chrome" VS. all else "painted"
3 different "bracket & shaft" for non-convertibles: '68 VS. '69 VS. '70
appears to be:
2 different mirrors: early '68 (no border) VS. late '68-'70 (plastic frame)
2 different brackets (bases): 2 corners/2 rounds (convertible) VS. 4 corners (all else)
3 different shafts: long "Teardrop" VS. short "Round" VS. short "Square I-beam"
I'll get the specifics from my brother's '68 GTX (September '67 built St. Louis car).
