72' Duster Twin Scoop Color?

Hey Guy's, I have 72' Duster that I am Building the way I want it. I have a set of the twin Hood Scoops that are currently Black. the car is going to be Viper Red with White Interior and white 340 side stripes. the hood may get the 340 Wedge decal, to be decided later. questions, should the scoops be left Black? or painted Body Color?and would you add the Wedge Decal? they have one with a Red outline, would that look good on a Red Car? thanks for opinions, Tom

You can't have scoops AND the V24 (340 Wedge)hood treatment .
You will need to choose one or the other . The V24 was '71 Only if that helps in your decision .
You can always do the V21 treatment with black scoops but then you would probably want to do your side stripes in black to match .

Personally I would do the scoops red/ body color as it would blend in better. The chrome bezels and 340 emblems would break up the red. Unless you had black stripes or a black vinyl top, the black scoops would stand out too much. As far as the decal, its your car and your choice. I'd do one or the other.

I didn't know the Decal wouldn't fit with the scoops. No Decal then. side stripes will be White for sure, so should would the scoops look funny Black? would they look better Red Body Color?

In that case ,red scoops would be my vote.

..i agree with Greg,especially if the car has the other bright work like belt line, rocker and wheel well mouldings.
the best thing to do is look at other cars to determine if that's what you like.

Theres a red 72 Duster 340 on ebay right now that has red scoops on it.
