What supplier has best E body bucket seatbacks? - 02/26/11 04:47 AM

I'm in the market for some repop seat back panels, and was wondering who makes the best ones?
Ive seen a few advertised by alot of vendors and the price seems to vary. I just don't want anything by Palco.

I have a set of the BEA versions.

They look fantastic. I tried to install them and have an issue with angles not lining up near the hinge/latch area.

In talking to Mike about them , as well as others. Due to the angles I have , I believe I may have broken or cracked seat back frames. Which will suck because the seats are done with new foam and covers.
I had other work to do,,,so I just back burnered them and have not got back to them to investigate further.

Once I do ( maybe mid-march ) I'll post pictures

Bill, I'll betcha the seat frames are cracked, very common. I have rewelded them.

They are the only seat backs on the market that are injection molded like factory originals were, also the only ones made of the original Polyethylene plastic material.

All others are Thermoformed (entirely different process that does not create an identical part) and they are made from an entirely different material (ABS) with different characteristics than original. IMO there is no choice but BE&A's, the rest are garbage.

Is there a common location where they break?

My seats are out of the car, and the seat back of my drivers seat
has never seemed as sturdy as I think it should.

I went on the BE/A website last nite, and black is $375.00, colors I believe were more.

PG Classics is the manufacture of BE&A's parts. The price is usually the same or less.

However with you living in the States you might want to deal with BE&A.
PG Classic's is out of Canada, that's why I prefer them...less attitude too

Ok, thanks. I'll do my due dilligance and shop around and see who has the best price with shipping. Maube I'll get lucky and someone will have some at the Indy show next week!

I can't argue with that. When I had posted a month or so back of the fit issues I was having. HE called me to help figure out a resolution.

does he comeoff as cocky, well yea.
but then again, I've been called a few things in my lifetime as well.
