1969 Coronet shock absorbers - 01/24/11 03:47 PM

I am reassembling my 69 Coronet R/T and am in search of new shock absorbers. An original OEM look is what I'm after.Year One has OEM looking shocks for over $200.00 a set. What do you guys think of these or are there others available?
Thanks in advance

I agree that Atlas has the correct style shock absorber but I'm not really crazy about them. We got some for the Superbird I restored and when they showed up, you can tell all they did was purchase a set that was the correct style (blue in color, possibly Monroe) and spray painted them black. I had to sand them down and repaint.

All I've ever used on my restorations are Gabriel Classic shocks that I buy from Autozone. They are a gas shock with black powder coating,The best part is there under $20 a shock. I restored my white Superbird a little over 10 yearsago using the classic shocks and it still rides and looks great.

You should look at the Monroe "Sensatrac" shocks. They have the exact look as the original oriflo shocks that were put on at the factory. The shock outer tubes of the shocks flare out just like the originals. I beleive they are about $20 each. Saw`them at Advance Auto.

Monroe's or Gabrielle's painted black. KYB's if you want you car to ride like poop...
