It is NOS, used original, Ben's, fiberglass, or an old bath towel.

Actually, I think the bases are covered as far as sources and am not aware of any other steel repops. Not what you were hoping to hear but I think that's it.

Think his name is Steve Matthews and I've bought a couple of them for use on some clone projects I was working on over the years - Real good guy to deal with , and for fiberglass repops , they are as good as I have seen or used - hope that helps

There seems to be, believe it or not, quite a few halves of the bases, both the inside and the outside.
The halves aren't worth half of what a good part is so there's some potential to save yourself some $.
Run a wanted ad and see whats out there.
That guy in London probably has some.

Opps edit I should say there WERE both halves floating around.

I bought a baseplate from Steve a couple of years ago and was very happy with the product recieved. Mine was set up for a stagev hemi intake and has worked well for me. Here it is when first recieved.

Even I had both halves at one time, both came from different places.

Re: 69 1/2 lift off hood air cleaner???? - 12/12/10 06:26 PM

The repop bases show up on ebay a lot. If you want fiberglass the company listed above is your best shot. I bought mine from them and cut out the base for my dual quads like scatpack did. The fiberglass is heavy duty and not flimsy at all. I didn't add drains yet, as I don't live where it rains very often, nor do I plan on driving my car in the rain.

I also do not drive my cars in rain but in scatpaks pic he is showing draines & I am wondering how he did it & where purchased it looks good. I am after the look factor not rain factor

my best mopar buddy lives in vegas gotta love the sun

Cut the inside six pack part out from the outside edges so you can run it in an airgrabber/ramcharger.

I'm surprised so many people kept the outside half.

Re: 69 1/2 lift off hood air cleaner???? - 12/13/10 12:09 AM

Sorry I do not really have any better pictures of the hardware used for the drains but got everything from my local hardware store. Used some copper fittings found in the plumbing section and fabbed it up. I have an original 69.5 6bbl aircleaner and tried to duplicate it the best I could. I even set up the valve cover breather the same and the setup has worked well. I will be glassing in the bottom of my lift off hood this winter and have it seal to the aircleaner for a functional system. When you use the hemi stagev intakes there are not a lot of options for a factory looking aircleaner assembly. Steve is a great guy to deal with and can set you up with just about anything you need. Here is a couple of more pictures of my setup.

I also do not drive in the rain if possible but wanted the drains for a factory look. They work well as I have tested them when washing the car.

Hey AB&E, I remember talking to you on the phone. I don't mean to sound arrogant when I say this, but its the truth: unless you want to spend the big $$$ to get the metal ones, my parts are the best available (and sometimes the ONLY thing available depending on configuration).

I try really hard to put out the best product I can because I personally can't stand being on the receiving end of a raw deal, especially with parts going on my car.

$150 may sound like a lot (?), but once you get the part, I think you'll agree that the part is worth it. I can tell you where to get one cheaper if that is what you are after.

Come on now, Alan, you know where I'm at.

If anyone reading this post orders one and isn't 100% satisfied, I'll give a full return/refund of the purchase price and a public Moparts apology.

I have zero interest in selling sub par parts.
