seatbelt color

If a car had red interior would the seat belts be black or red?

This is concerning an E body if there is a difference. The car has all red interior, but is missing the seat belts.

Never doubt my info again! If it has a black steering column, it has black seatbelts. If it is a deluxe model with all the bells and whistles, it will have a red column and red seatbelts.

Seat belts: Black. If the car was optioned with C15 (Deluxe Seat Belts) it would have Red belts. Otherwise Black. There are exceptions though. Some Challengers came with what appears to be a standard buckle with Red webbing. (Perhaps Barry will explain in more detail?)
I know of some early built Barracudas with Red interior and Black belts.

Steering column: Standard dash cluster came with a black steering column. Rallye Instrument Cluster came with a Red column. Both came with the Red 3 spoke horn pad. Again, there are some exceptions. Early built Red interior Challengers with the Rallye Instrument Clusters came with the Black column. Such as the Promo cars.

My Red interior `cudas (203 & 421) both have Black seat belts and Red steering columns (A62). Both original cars when I purchased them.

I agree with this, but wanted to add that if a standard dash Challenger was ordered with the J64 woodgrain applique it appears that it still got a black column.

It was a question I had on whether the column color was tied to the woodgrain, or the instrument cluster itself. It appears it is tied to the cluster.

Note: I only have info on one car that is a standard dash car with J64 and an interior color other than black, so the sample size is only 1.
