Inexpensive Quality Gauge Resto - 10/28/10 02:18 AM

If you want a quality job done on any dash cluster, get in touch with Scott Erickson gsdd@ameritech.net I just got my rally gauge cluster done and he did an outstanding job and it was cheap. His prices will blow anyone away when it comes to an estimate.

How does he refinish the face of the gauges? Screenprint? I have the rebuilt kits to the tach, clock etc.

I believe he does use the silkscreen method. Here are some examples.
Clean-up, restore internals, adjust, and calibrate all instruments - $65
Quartz clock conversion - $80
Voltage limiter conversion - $60
Redo Odometer letering $20

Does he do the ammeter-voltmeter conversions?
I don't want my A-100's 8-10 feet of ammeter wiring letting the smoke out.

Says Voltage limiter conversion. I read that as the gauge voltage thingie plugged into the back of the cluster, not a voltmeter conversion.

Red Line Gauge Works in Santa Clarita, California and Williamson's Instruments in Chester, Arkansas do the ammeter to voltmeter conversion. They both have websites, I believe.

Good Luck...

Yes, Scott does great work ! He's local to me and has helped me out a ton. He's also great with wiring and any other thing that has voltage to it or through it.

He does everything from what I know but send him an email and he'll get answers to you asap.

Re: Inexpensive Quality Gauge Resto - 11/02/10 06:50 PM

On the gauge faces. I offer 2 options - silk-screening and decal overlays in my dash & wiring restoration business. I have done nearly 120 instrument clusters since 1999 using the overlays and no returns yet. Unlike "stickers " you find at some shops, I use a special 3M product and they don't peel or warp. It's all about application and a unique process to apply them. Feel free to email for a quote. gsdd@ameritech.net
