Rear finish panel resto???? - 10/16/10 02:17 PM

Hey guys... need some help. I'd like to restore or get someone to restore the rear finish panel from my 1970 Coronet.... don't want it buffed out to look like chrome, would like it to look close to the original finish as possible...any ideas???

Thanks,
Bryan

Here's the one he did for me. I wouldn't dream of letting anyone else do it.

John, he started w/150 grit sand paper (a bit scary he admitted) and did the whole piece. Then went up to 200, 300 400 all the way to 2000 I believe. He then used "Autosol" straight out of the tube and brought it out to the finish you see there......

As mentioned, I was quoted $500.00, this cost about $50.00!

That looks great. Nice work. Maybe you should have yor nephew bend up those brake lines on the rear axle housing ...j/k

Hello:
VERY NICE WORK...I have finished trim in very similar fashion to what was done here. One word of caution / do not undertake this type of refinishing if you do not have buckets full of patience and the determation to get it done right, this is not a quick fix.
But done right as this was, the results are worth it.
