You need to use a high quality Urethane sealer. After the gasket is installed, with urethane, around the metal just use a dish soap solution on the glass and some stiff plastic spoons(for the lack of another word)and slide it between the rubber and glass. After soap solution dries use the Urethane to seal the glass to the rubber.

Thanks for the tip so you don't use a small piece of rope?

I'd try to help you but i'm not sure if it is the same as a b-body. If it is i could offer some suggestions.

I didn't and didn't have any trouble installing the glass on my '68 Barracuda. Just start in one corner and work the plastic tool around the perimeter.

You have to put the gasket on the pinchweld first...
then work the windshield into the gasket.

There's too much "meat" on the corners of the gasket to use the "pull the rope to the inside" method.
