67 GTX Plymouth hood letter color?

Would anybody know the correct color on the indented part of the Plymouth hood letters on a 1967 GTX? Are they supposed to be white or black? My letters seem to be decent except that the paint has worn completely off the letters.

IIRC, black. Actually, I can't recall seeing white in any PLYMOUTH chrome letters of that period.
