70-74 E-body 1/4 glass rear guides not on some cars ? - 09/08/10 05:31 PM

Hey guys, we're running through some of our ebodies here and noticed not all of them have the rear 1/4 glass rear guides installed... were they only on certain models or years ??

none of the ragtops have them, those are kind of obvious... our 70 cuda has them, our 70 challenger has the bracket for them but no guide installed and our 73 and 74 cudas have the top bracket but not the bottom bracket that holds the track to the wheelhouse.... ??? Most of the above are untouched cars... They don't appear to do much other than guide the bottom inch of the point on the glass, did chrylser dump them in 71?

My 73 Challenger has a guide welded to the inner structure of the quarter that the crank mechanism arm slides in. Then the glass track is held in with one bolt at the top and is adjustable at the bottom with a large stud. That's it. I have no idea if that is the same or different than other years.
