B body collapsible column plastic trim...

This plastic tube was electrical taped around the collapsible portion of my steering column tube for the '70 B. Is this plastic even supposed to be here? How is it supposed to be affixed? Anyone got a pic?

Yes it's supposed to be there and it's taped in place on one end ... i believe , other end is up under the top of the column that moves with the shifter ... something like that ...
