'69 Bee tail light housings....

I'm sure it's been covered here before, but I must have missed it. What is the correct finish for the tail light housings of a '69 Bee?

Without popping my trunk I'm pretty sure that they are gray.

Painted, coated with something, or bare?

Bare castings.

It so happens I have three here on the bench.
Just raw metal.

Thanks. Kinda hard for me to tell with 41 years worth of dirt and overspray.

I was right they are gray! Never looked into what was done to them, but Paul Jacobs completely restored my taillight to better then new condition Holding up nicely
