Help with small bolts-"67 GTX Body assembly,please - 08/11/10 12:49 AM

While cleaning bolts/clips prior to painting prior to assembling finally now painted Body parts,I noticed two small bolts 1/4"x 1"long,with
large copper washers with Lead coating on other
side? They go into assembling front metal parts
and braces, but I'm not sure where they came from
exactly, and they were covered with paint
and undercoating at dissassembly,so went unnoticed
-I'm guessing the intent is to provide a good
electrical ground, possible fastening the brace between K-member and core support?? Anybody??

I recall seeing fasteners similar to what you are describing and they were from (iirc) the battery tray brackets.

I think all the battery tray fasteners are 5/16-18 thread

the only thing I can think off the top of my head thats 1/4-20 - is radiator mounting, lower rad support to K-frame and under hood electrical device attachments
Is there a body color panel between the frt bumper and grille ?
if so they would be 1/4-20 as well

There is a small bolt with a sharp pointy end and copper captive washer that holds the ground strap to the firewall.
