It looks just like the one on my '68 4 speed hemi RR.
Protect that rubber boot on the solenoid, as mine fell apart years ago, and I can't find another one!

Not the best viewing angle, but it looks like a Hemi direct drive starter to me... see attachment.

Not sure if you have that correct with your pics.

A Real direct drive HEMI starter has the threaded top bolt hole going straight into the solenoid arm. Also look for the HEMI only main (steel)case #'s. A lot of those got inadvertently switched to a 6 cyl case #'s. A true hemi case # is something like 2642930 vs. a 6 cyl case # 1888100.

Yeah that's it. Heres a close up of an original, the part # is one off the actual casting number-common with Mopar stuff.

Not sure what you see wrong in the pics... but I have been known to make mistakes... Maybe you thought that the picture showed the threaded hole not aligned with the centerline of the solenoid housing? I was using an archive photo that was handy, and the picture line of sight was not ideal. The threaded hole does align with the solenoid, and the pictures were showing the flange contour outline: a straight edge near the flange hole for the 6 Cyl, and a radiused edge flange contour for the Hemi starter castings.

Here is a photo of the only Hemi starter that I had easy access to tonight... others are buried in my workshop. Note that the profile of the flange is radiused near the threaded hole.

The correct number on my rebuilt Hemi direct drive starter "snout" housing...

But, as with many rebuilt Hemi starters, a 6 Cyl barrel was used...

Here is a composite picture for comparison showing the various photos posted earlier in this thread... note that the snout housing number and barrel number are different on the eBay obtained archive picture at the bottom of a 1966 Hemi direct drive starter...
