69 Ramcharger what do I need to mount it to the hood? - 06/23/10 10:35 PM
I am in the process of mounting the ramcharger box to my 69 superbee hood. I am not exactly sure what holds it to the hood (rivets...bolts?) since I am not the one who disassembled the car. Any advice & detailed pics would be greatly appreciated!

Weren't the originals mounted using full faced black solid head rivets, that had some sort of a cinch tool or press that flowered over the ends? What I always thought, or am I thinking just what holds the box together.

Rick,
I think your thinking about the split rivet used to assemble the box sections themselves.
As far as I know the box itself is held to the hood ( center section only btw and 1969 only), with the large flange rivets as shown. Same rivets as the frame rail splash shields.
Each Outer section of the box uses screws

The rivets that were on mine were the same as those used to attach early Fox-body ('79, for example) Mustang front bumper covers.

Bill, I thought there might be variations there, plant, day of the week, sun spots, solar flares, planetary alignment. The parts guide and service manual show rivets and screws, but does not mention location and quantity. The "restoration guides" have a lot of incorrect data, so, like you, I try to see what's out there. I have a ? and comment bout a product you offer, I'll send a pm.
