There's a soft spiral bound book that is very very helpful on all of this. Must have for what you are doing. I think by Jim Schild???

-have special large bolt pattern KH disk from the A-body rallye and trans am program (Tarrozzi was a member of Team Starfish)
-had mufflers/resonators with turn downs

I've just seen the book. I think amazon or something probably. Just search Super Stock Dart book or something. Shouldn't take you long.

I believe they were 383-s to begin with.

I've heard that they were 383 cars pulled off the line. That would make them destined to be GTS/"S" cars. But it may be more involed than that.

Both got convertible frame bracing at least. I think that is more than what a 383 4spd got?? So I don't know if you could consider that a Formula S or GTS body or a "S"/GTS plus.

Darts have 270 interior trim. Most all the things that made a Formula S were either gutted/not used or not applicable to a Super Stock.

Only thing I wonder on the Barracuda is whether the Super Stocks had rear valences with dual exhaust cutouts??? All and only "S"'s got dual exhausts in 1968.

That book will help/answer these questions. Or others on this list. I don't know those S/S much, but more familar with the Formula S and GTS cars.

The book is a good read but it doesnt have a lot of "usefull" info on building a car the way they came out of the Hurst factory. Still worth the $20 though.

autox,

The reason for the question was the rear valance cutout idea. Did the or didn't they... I do believe that they had the torque boxes....

I have found a real Formula S car that I might use for the project...its a really nice, low mileage car...numbers match, buildsheet, original paint car:) anyone want to buy some parts?
