Got my radiator back today!

Got my radiator back today! - 04/30/10 11:24 PM

I did a lot of considering between fixing what I had, a repo, or an aluminum (painted black of course.) Finally decided to let the local shop fix mine. I just knew I'd miss the pentastar and mopar numbers. The guy's eyes really lit up when I told him is was a GTX and I was putting a hemi in it. It was a 2 row and he ordered a 3 row high efficiency core for it. He promised it will cool anything I put behind it. Let me bring the brackets and tanks home to blast ad wire brush before installing the new core. Every dent he couldn't straighten was filled with solder and at my request he left off the paint job with the glossy and gooey radiator shop paint. It looks fanstastic, although it's a little heavier now. Wasn't cheap but it's kinda nice to support a local business and get good service in return!

It was $480 out the door. The guy doing the work told me he spent 5 hours on it.

Had the same thing done to my rad a few years ago. Shop just across the border from me in Canada did it for $200. No cooling problems at all with a decent build 400.
