70 RR convert...what is this vacuum cannister? - 04/29/10 11:53 AM

This is the 70 RR Convertible that's been on ebay forever. What is the vacuum cannister thing mounted on the fender well by the brakes? I have 63 power brakes and I do not have this cannister thing.

Not a vac canister it is a cruise control servo. Pretty rare deal on B bodies.

Thanks! N88 code. Is that a code that would show on the fender tag or just the build sheet? His write up doesn't mention it and he did add the a/c so he could have added this. $95K!!!

It would be on the fender tag, for this car it is not. No good interior shots to see if it has the correct column stem to go with it. Still pretty cool though.

Neet car but the added AC sort of tips me off it may be added too. If the N96 is legit I do not know if cruise was available with that. What are they asking for the car? Just curious.

Auto Speed control was not available with N96.

I did not think it was. I would be looking that car over quite well if interested.

I saw this car several years ago when the car had steel wheels and hubcaps. The car sold for around 38k. I decoded the broadcast sheet and the car is an open end 3.23 car according to the sheet. The dash has been hacked for the aftermarket a/c unit and the car is not even in that great of shape. I think all here would agree that 95k is way out of control!

Well 70 RR verts go for more than 69's. But almost sounds like this might be worth the $38K. If that was 5-3 years ago, I don't think they've gone up since then.

Very interesting. I agree, its pretty unrealistic to think someone will bite at that price

Cruise control is one of the few options not on my 500 vert.

I know this car and almost bought it back in 1997 or 98. It was an auto on the column plain jane except the air grabber. The guys brother was dying from Cancer and needed to sell the car to help him out. It was a nice car but needed to some detailing. It was out west I think in Iowa or Nebraska. A whopping $22,500 is what he wanted. He sold it before I could send him some cash. Some one added some things.
