Good Guy Alert - Dave Walden

Good Guy Alert - Dave Walden - 04/24/10 08:37 AM

I just wanted to let everyone know what a great guy Dave Walden is. I contacted Dave regarding the rearend fonts I was having a problem finding, in order to have rubber stamps made. Dave took time out of his very busy day, not only to answer my emails, but to talk on the phone with me for over an hour! During our phone conversation, Dave made up print copy of my fonts from the photos I had emailed him (can you say multi-tasking!), and sent them right to me.

Dave also gave me an open invitation to come to the Nats and go to dinner with him. That blew me away!

I want to publicly thank Dave for his unselfish and kind help. Without him, I would still be pulling my hair out (what's left of it) trying to come up with the fonts. We need more people like Dave in this hobby!!

Thanks again Dave,

Dan Hegybeli

I had the opportunity of having supper with Dave a few years ago and
it was a real pleasure conversing with him. He has a wealth of knowledge
and is a very passionate individual. I truly enjoyed speaking with him
and learning more about the man. He is a real asset to this hobby.
Thanks Dave.

I agree. Dave helped us BIG time with detail question and answers when we redid our 70 chally vert. Hell, he even helped us out with spray patterns for the undercoating that needed to be reapplied to the front wheel wells.

One hell of a guy!

Dave has also always been there for me. NO matter how busy he is and he is busy. Dave takes the time share knowledge, and research. It would be nice if lived closer. Can I go for dinner with guys too. Thanks again Dave for your help in this hobby.

Hi Dan, Dave also went out of his way to make sure the door VIN decal type was offset as per the original on the EK2 car when I bought it from him several years ago. If I recall correctly, when you bought the 'Cuda, I gave you both the ECS repop and the absolute garbage from PCG? Outstanding service and work

I'll throw my in as well. Dave spent about 4 hours with me at his shop a couple Fridays ago, and went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out with my Daytona project. He and his guys are going to push the envelope a bit with some original parts restoration work, and he made some calls on my behalf to a couple heavy-hitters on the manufacturing side to make sure some concerns of mine were handled. He neither had to do so nor was asked to do so - but voluntarily chose to help me out. Dave literally offered me the shirt off his back, and I do not doubt for a second that he would have given it to me had I even thought I needed it.

It was a pleasure to officially meet him, although we've talked on the phone several times over the years, have been around each other at shows, and have mutual acquaintances through Steve Been and Tom Barcroft. I look forward to stopping by his shop again soon - not to mention perhaps getting to see the fruits of his (automotive) labor/passion in person. Something tells me I'll be just as impressed with those as I am with ECS & Dave.
