do you have the ORIGINAL BROADCAST SHEET ?

The chances of getting one are good. There are several people out there including Trim Tags.

Be aware there are mistakes in their samples.

As John said, without the broadcast sheet or other factory documentation, it will not be correct.

So you can get any and all the tags you want but without paperwork, it will not be accurate. And even with paperwork.....well....

The original poster said he has the window sticker. Seems like a lot of people are hanging their hats on the broadcast sheet as the only thing to make a tag from? I would think the window sticker would be just about enough info?

I'd like to see an example of an item that is on both a broadcast sheet and fender tag, but not on a window sticker. I'm trying to come up with one but it is too early:)

M21 when it was standard but it also depends on what a specific plant did and didn't code on the tag.

I don't know about Los Angeles cars, but the BEST place to find a build sheet on a 1970 Hamtramck E body is behind the plastic bucket seat back on the drivers seat. I have found several there, and they are generally in the best condition.
I once bought a FJ6 T/A body, and pulled the back off the bucket seat and found a mint build sheet,
folded over twice in a square. It was almost like a brand new sheet of paper.

I missed the window sticker part , but even with the window sticker it will require RESEARCH of same models from the same plant to get the proper codes .

But he is going to have to guess on at least the build date after doing research on VIN's , the door sticker only shows the month and year .

Does the window sticker show the order number and the sequence number ?

They did not build Cudas at the Lynch Rd. plant, but just as an example, a B/S will not give you all of the info that is on a L.R. tag on the top line.

There is too much stock put in the scheduled production date because, it is just that, a SCHEDULED date. That does not mean it was actually built on that date.

There is different information on all three items, B/S, FT, and window sticker all are relative to some degree and many are redundant. The B/S is redundant in itself coding certain things twice.

The FT was basically information for the body in white with regards to the equipment that dictated what firewall was to be installed, etc.

FWIW: The LA tags were coded similarly to St. Louis and Hamtramck, but usually used a thinner font (not always)...Also, out of all of the tags I've researched over the years, I've never seen an LA tag that didn't have the bend in the upper left corner....but??

Bend?? What exactly are you talking about? Please explain? Tks

yes the la build car has the finer font, but i dont see the bent corner,as others have.its a two tag car, maybe the reason? i sure wish the guy could look harder for the other tag,i dont need the hassle of a repo tag story. this is one of several cars i have bought the dumbass owners have lost, kept, whatever, the tags.at least i have the window sticker, and how strange is that, loose the tags and have the sticker, duh.

The fender tags were some times held down with only one screw during the paint process in order to paint the inner fender under it vand the under side of the tag. Then it was screwed down after the paint dried. When you remove the tag there is and unpainted corner where it was screwed down with the one screw and bent up. See the attached picture example the yellow on is an L.A. built (thin font fender tag) car.
