When front fenders are going back[69 b-body] on what should be used between the fender and inner fender? I was thinking of using 3M strip caulk.

From factory there isn't anything. The 3M chalk won't hurt anything.

When I took my car apart there was some sort of soft tar like material. I dont want any road dirt filtering up and into the engine compartment.
