'70 Road Runner White & Black Interior Questions - 01/16/10 07:54 AM

Using THIS PAGE as my guide, I see the seats, door panels, and rear quarter panels will all be white with the carpet, dash, and headliner done in black.

Kick panels should be black, too, correct? Black package tray, sail sail panels on the C-pillars, and seat belts, also?

Using THIS PAGE as my guide for the door panels, it appears the door panel wraps over the top edge of the door and no paint shows at the top. Is that correct?

TIA

Door panels don't cover top of door, that's painted. All else seems corect.

On mine the headliner is white too. The inside of the doors and back trim is painted white. The dash, package tray and the front winshield trim is black. The carpet and kick panels are also black. This is the way mine was originaly. Good Luck! Ronnie

The headliner and mouldings to the side of it should be white along with the upper rear window trim.

Thank you.

This was the only pic of '70 RR with a white & black interior I could find online, and it does appear the top edge of the door is painted black:

This one, however, appears to have door panels which wrap the top edge of the door:

Is this full height door panel part of the Decor Group option?

Carpet, dash, A pillars, kick panels, console and package tray should be black. Everything else white.

I see no Door Panel to the top of the edge of the door, in fact it looks like it's just painted door metal, no trim visible.

Am I missing something here? I thought only Chargers had the upper door trim?

Somebody school me on this if i'm wrong please.

The only '68-'70 B-body with any upholstery on the upper door frames is the Charger. Zero-None-no way on a Plymouth B-body '68-'70. White interiors '69-'70 had the upper door frames & quarter metal panels painted white.
Chargers had white headliners with white interiors, Plymouth bounced back & forth. My '69 RR White Decor interior had a black headliner. Dash, column, carpet, kick panels, package tray & seatbelts black.

Ok, so the area outlined in pink in my attached picture is metal, correct? And the pink outlined piece is a separate piece from the inner door shell itself?

And the yellow line indicated the topmost edge of the door panel, correct?

Thanks for the pics.

Re: '70 Road Runner White & Black Interior Questions - 01/17/10 01:36 AM

For a 70 road runner the area you outlined in pink is part of the door shell and will look just like the full size picture you posted above. One small hole for access to allen bolt that holds window channel in place. May have another hole for remote mirror if so equipped. PS door only has the one small hole as well. The rear piece for back seat area below quarter window is a seperate piece that screws on.

To take it a bit further, the chrome molding at the top of the vinyl interior trim panel finishes the edge of the trim panel & is attached by phillips screws; you have to remove the trim panel to access them. The interior color breaks under the weatherstrip; you'll find a masking line there. The bottom metal area, below the trim panel, was the same color as the top metal part.
