harnesses / resto question

What is the best way to restore or clean up factory harnesses especially the tailight and front running light harnesses that have permanant attachments to the housings..?? What do you use to clean the wires and remove rust/corrosion from the metals?? Thanks in advance..

A recent Mopar Muscle had a good article on that very topic, I think it was the current issue.
