Dave, does nice work on any thing he reproduces
or trys to improve with a manufacturer.
You know when you order it from ESC you are going
to get the best you can get period.

That's because they are dead nuts on.

ECS is awesome. I just got some date coded glass for the Cuda and it is just factory fresh... just amazing work they do over there.

ECS does incredible work and the attention to detail is second to none. If he offers a product it will always be the best on the market.

Actually, aside from Dave's attention to detail, he is one of the nicest people to talk to on the planet. He is always trying to better the hobby for everyone. Being that I am a detail oriented person as well, Dave will ALWAYS have my business even if the item costs a few bucks more, I know it will be correct.

Well I would not say it was dead nuts on as the spacing is a hair off. However, I think they look great regardless. I am not much for super OE Gold type restos but I wouldnt mind getting my decals upgraded with ECS if I ever get to that point.

I think the "hair off" you're looking at might have been the picture supplied to ECS. It is very important that you take a direct photo of the vin, if the pictured is angled, it will make the letters appear closer together than they really are.

Here is a picture of my original compared to the one Dave just sent me.

Hey Mike,
That looks familiar! I had Jon place them together for a better reference. You are 100% correct with regards to picture positioning. If I receive a photo of the VIN (straight on) I can position the characters exactly as the original.

Re: ECS feedback - 12/23/09 03:08 AM

Could just be that. Regardless, even if they were off a bit I would still think they were outstanding. Hopefully, if I can get my Challenger Convertible project done (and I am just finishing disassembly) I would like to finish mine off with a full set from ECS to complete the project. It will kind of be a nice finishing touch I think.

Unless you have one of those 70 Daytona's, NO sticker

A friend of mine with a couple of Daytona's just emailed me saying there were VIN decals on them. All I can say is WOW I never knew that. Since turning 50 this year I thought I couldn't learn anything else!!! LOL

Neither of my 1969 Daytonas have a factory vin sticker on the back of the drivers door. I understand that it started sometime later?

Yes, '69 Daytonas were one of the first Mopars, if not the first, with the VIN decals. Remember, they were slated to be a '70 model year release until MaMopar decided to push them quicker. I believe the reason for that was the up-and-coming Sept. '69 Talladega race and the fact that the '70 model year would require far more street production units.
