Interestd in y'alls input about an alternator received from a customer yesterday. Vehicle is a very low mileage, mid year '70 e-body. All other underhood items are substantiated to be OEM including the voltage reg. Alternator has correct part number and assembly date for the car. Original shell finish is there other than some spot cleaning the customer did before shipping. Rear shell casting details are "normal." Front shell has no pentastar, cdpd lettering, cast in date code calendar, nor shell manufacturer, i.e., NW or KCP. It does have the correct part number and, in a small rectangular box, the manufacturer name "Lester." I have not seen a single example of this type of front shell later than 1965. I would appreciate any feedback concerning the originality of this piece. Customer believes it to be original.
