T/A strut rod finish - 07/31/09 01:21 AM

Black or gold Cad?
The guy restoring my front suspension thought they were black phospate, but when he started disassembling mine he found traces of gold cad.
So which is correct?

Strut rods are natural. Preserve with Boeshield or Wet Graphite.

Bushing retainers are brown zinc dichromate.

Bushings require the special sleeves.

Front nuts are brown zinc dichromate.

Rear nuts are black phosphate.

Roll pins (black phosphate) are used at the front of the strut rods.

I have the needed items if desired.

I have seen many early built 70 cars with silver zinc washers.

Yes, Mike, that is absolutely correct!

And based on that very scenario, both types are offered on my website. The clear (bright) zinc washers were, however, most commonly found on 66-69 cars.
