Thanks, Question on the V1X, the car doesn't appear to have had a vinyl roof but looking at the broadcast sheet it does show it to have V1X ROOF PNT/STYLE TOP so I guess it should have it. Is there anything on a black hood or should I post the broadcast sheet?

it did have a vinyl top when new & there should be evidence where the quarter panel holes would've been filled/welded from the backside

originally had a red hood - no black or 340 WEDGE decal - post the sheet if you have it! scope

Red with a black top would've been sharp when new. 340, 727 and bucket seats makes it a cool car.

up And another cool thing about this car is it still has the original numbers matching 340 with the original bore and the original numbers matching 727 plus it's solid as a rock body wise. Rallye Red with a black bucket seat interior and a black top and black 340 side stripe.....................

For a โ€˜72, it sounds like a desirable car๐Ÿ‘

many years ago there was a rallye red duster in northern Ky I think it was a 71 , but might have been a 72 .

Black vinyl top, 340 decal and hood blackout , black vinyl top. bucket seats factory air car

The day I looked at it owner was unsure if he wanted to sell or not. I went back maybe a month later he called and said he listed it on auto trader . It sold before I could get back to him Car was really nice and solid as a rock. never saw it again

Dan, the story of this Duster is that it was purchased from the original owner in the late '90's by a friend and co-worker of a good friend of mine (Mike Wowk original F.A.S.T. racer and series pioneer). Mike's co-worker started to make it into a drag racer with mini-tubs and a rollbar and that's where it stopped and sat in a garage since 1998. The guy did a clean job of putting in the tubs and the rollbar and those things can be easily undone without hurting the originality of this Duster. The car is solid and I'm very impressed as to how rust free and solid it is as you will see in the photos. The car was painted black (bummer) but it will look awesome going back to the original Rallye Red and with the broadcast sheet and fender tag and numbers engine and trans that's documentation that in this case is priceless to get it back to original form. The minimal (interior) metal work removing the rollbar and tubs makes it an easy and expense and time saving car. It's a solid project and the interior and parts are mostly there. I wish I could buy it but have two projects that have been on hold way too long.......dang I really like this Duster. Give me a chance to round up some photos.

Question on the hood pins? Are they listed on the broadcast sheet as an option? Also was told the "shark's tooth" grille is an option too?? Mike has the original power steering and power disc brake booster for it too.

hood pins were NOT on the OPTION list for 1972 Dusters

the "shark tooth" grill was STANDARD on VS29 (340 Duster) & included with the OPTIONAL "TWISTER" package on VL29

Thanks Dan, sad news for me but good news for someone, MikeW just asked me to list it in A-bodies For Sale frown cry Good news for me though Mike is going to have time (as I will too) to get my A12 finished as he offered and reason for the Duster sale. This Duster would be perfect for my young son and I as a project but we'll have to hope to find something this solid, nicely optioned and color......but I doubt it.

Thanks again everyone for your replies and help beer

Mike
