stock exhaust manifolds on a 67 Coronet - 03/04/22 04:26 PM

Can I use the 68-70 HIPO exhaust manifolds on a 67 Coronet with a 440?

Im not concerned with dead nuts correct. As I will have head pipes made up locally

I don't see a problem; front structure & layout is pretty much the same.
I can't recall what my stock/original '67 GTX had for exhaust manifolds, but I think they were the '68-'70 HP style.
I googled it and they look the same.
Clocking of the head pipe flanges is different on '70 than '68-'69, neither should be a problem.

Thanks, Thats kind of what I thought , I know the mounting is different between 67 versus 68-70 . and I know the head pipe attachment is clocked different for 1970.

But dont care either way.
Car I bought has headers which will go away as soon as I can find some manifolds reasonably priced .
Im planning to have head pipes made locally

Just make sure you get HiPo manifolds for B Body . . . C Body right is same, but left (drivers side) is different shape to fit around the steering column on C body and interferes if used on B body . . .

Probably don't need to tell you, but will anyway:
Make sure the flanges are flat & true before you bolt 'em on.
Blanchard grinder or a long belt sander & a sense of feel can correct them.
Used to be Walker had the exhaust system for a lot less than the resto guys, if you want the stock pipes.

Plan to insure they are flat.

A friend of a friend of mine owns an exhaust shop locally.
Planning to have him bend up new head pipes. and maybe even do away with the flowmasters . I pick the car up next week. and once I see how loud it is, or not. Then will decide on mufflers or not

I come from the other side of this, why take off working headers???? If they have a flange leak put Rem Flex gaskets on and problem solved.
To give away 30-50 horsepower for no good reason I rather kiss AOC!!

Ron, this car is more a crusier than a hot rod.
I would rather not deal with leaks, burnt plug wires etc etc

Plus, I mainly hate the look
