It’s a shame you didn’t say AAR hood, I have one of those I could have sold for considerably less than 1k
New in a box, made by Dales Cuda Shop in the late 80’s

Save 30%* until midnight Saturday at
YEARONE.com or 1-800-YEARONE.
Use Code: YN3171

Here is a 30% off coupon for Year One. It may work on the hood.

these guys have the nicest TA hood. Its not like OEM (which means crappy and rough smile )

There used to be a guy in Pennsylvania that made them crappy like OEM. ASC&P I think he called his company. I have one of his. NICE but too OEM looking for my T/A clone. I shoould have gone with one of the hoods above. In fact I was thinking about going with a more correct rallye hood or even a flat hood.

I know a guy that has an original TA hood. He’s been trying to sell it to me for $1400. It is painted and ready to install but he did mess up the paint a little the last time he took it to a swap meet. No way he’d be willing to crate it up to ship to NY, though.

I saw one from Unlimted and it was a poor fit width front to back and side to side was off. As I have seen sone the were not that great of a fit but the AAR ones are.
I too have one of the ASC&P hoods it was 3 parts like they were made botton top and scoop. They are rough. I spent way to much effort gettong it 100% and is way to nice now to pass for orginal. He looks like he no longer does it and is 100% into his hobby of being Balloon and Pilot Guy.
At the time AAR did nt make them and would have went that way. I could have done biody work on a whole car fir what it took to do just the hood.
They have a few washer setups sold out there. But would get the good metal ones are 100- 110 bucks but would pay once and get the right ones
I am not a 100% resto guy so added the SE hood trim to the rear as I have a 3 part set for hood and fenders I restored.
I used Ben Snowbar's whole set up. The base is 100% and the lid is the wide lip like it should be. I was lucky and he had a bent bast that was an easy fix so cut me a deal back then as we had pnety opf deals threw the years way back when he was in Hemmings I was buying X Blocks from him and other things.
If you do not have an Air Cleaner I would recomend his stuff as someone took the business over.

Jim, I know you've had your hood many years, and AAR did make a nicely finished piece, however AAR was acquired by Stinger, and Stinger products were always known for cheap resin, cheap gel coats, and substituting coremat for a quick/cheap build up to avoid using the proper OS mat/lay up, so I'd be Leary of an AAR product today.... from the few current parts that I've personally seen come out of Stinger/AAR they were inferior quality, nothing like AAR's past quality fit/finish....

Unlimited was mentioned also in this thread, granted Unlimited was a 50/50 shot in the past, they have been under new ownership/management the last few years and Kevin has greatly improved their products and service, the last few items I've received from Unlimited were very nicely done as far as fit/finsh

VFN is another source for T/A hoods, I haven't bought anything from VFN for a few years, but I never had any issues with hoods and fenders that I bought in the past, the quality of the gelcoat/glass/lay up were very nice

There's also USBodySource, I can't speak for their T/A offering, but I did buy a glass Shaker hood from them several years ago, the fit/finish was very good no complaints....

I bought an unlimited hood for my race car and took way to many hours to straighten it out. It was the lightweight race version.

Me too!! I was about to say get AAR and avoid Unlimited like the plague - but I guess things do change.
Wasn't it Unlimited that used to include a gallon of filler so that you could fill all the craters in the jellcoat?
