Loud poping noise, shutting trunk

When ever I open or shut my trunk(68 roadrunner)I have a loudpoping or binding noise, It happens when the trunk is about all the way open and when it closes, it is at the start off closing it. I had my son get in the trunk and look when I clos ed it. He said that the one torsion bar end acted like it had a bind to it. The noise came when it moved in the bracket. on the right side. Any sugestions on the cause?

try a set of new blocks on the ends of the torsion bars. Take some vaseline and wip it on where the slids move. Hope this helps

I will try that . I have never had anything like that happen before.

I tried the blocks, a used set, all that I had, that did not work. anybody else have an idea? Thanks
