1971 Vapor Separator

Does anyone know how these work?

I have the driver's side wheel well version. It is quite rusty on the outside. I would like to reuse it. Is there any reason why it will not work properly any longer? I'm not quite sure of what is inside, so I don't quite know how it functions.

That is a good question. I have one also, I just made sure there was no through holes in the canister, mine was is good shape, just hooked it up,I'm assuming it works. Be nice is someone has ever opened one up to answer that question

The service manual tells how it works, pretty simple.
