70RR inside door standing bird location?

Whats correct location for standing bird on inside passenger door?

I'm 99% sure that this bird is original. Measurement photos are a little blurry but the picture with the tape measure upside down, the tape is against the small rivet hole on the upper frame. The other one shows the top feathers 5 1/2" from the leading edge of the upper door frame. I would think there were some variations on where they were put since it seems like a place that would have been "eyeballed" by the installer.

Look how the plume of head feathers is below the bulge in the wing gasket. That may be how they were installed.

Good theory

Now I need to get off my theory and go look at my car and see where the decal is placed.

I would bet no 2 cars were exactly the same.

this question came up a few years ago when I had my 70 rr and someone else and I both posted pics of original door placement and they were about an inch different in lateral location. Update I found a pic of my old car

The original decals had alignment features built into the backing material trim... reproductions may not have this feature...
