440HP Manifolds question - 06/07/08 04:07 PM

i have 906 heads on a 67' 440 block.

will the 68-69 HP manifolds fit? (yearone says their manifolds are 68-69)...

I saw on ebay that the 70' HP manifold has the drivers side at a different angle? is this true?

It's for a 70 B-body. 67' 440 block with 906 heads, what are my options?

Yes they will fit
There is a difference in 68-69 and 70-71 besides the part # 70-71 have bosses for the heat riser on the l side and the flanges are clocked different, 68-69 pipes will not bolt up to the 70-71 manifolds

Yes they will fit but the flange on one side has a differant clocking than the 70/71 Hp Manifolds and they will not have the tabs for the heat tube if that matters. If you use TTI headpipes they will make them for the manifolds you use with your car.

great thannks, i will have to get custom piping as I previously had long tube headers, so at least now I know 68-71 manifolds will work.

I've had it with the header heat problems burning wires, cooking starters, clanging around restricting clearance.....not worth it for me, I drive em on the street and don't do any racing.

yes , the pass side manifold is the one that has the different flange clocking , drivers side is the same clocking .

Let's try again. Top shows 67, middle 68/9, bottom 70/1
If you need a 68/9 left side I have a extra.

rrunner, thanks i was going to ask you if you had a pair.

I'm going to keep my eyes out for a pair, year one also sells the new ones for 450 ish, comes with gaskets, bolts etc... I might go that route, not sure if its worth it.

I think you can find a good used set much cheaper than the repo's. I know there has been a 2806900 on ebay a few times listed at $99 with no hits, the right side HP manifold 2806900 is the most common hp manifold as far as I know as it was used on all hp engines from 67-69 in B and C body cars. If you find a good one give me a buzz I have the 2843992 (68/9 b body left) I will sell ya for $65. I have also seen 70/1 pairs on ebay for around the $200-$250 range
