1970 Challenger front valance molding

1970 Challenger front valance molding - 08/30/18 07:00 PM

Probably a stupid question, but does anyone know if the front valance molding of a 72-74 Challenger will fit a 70-71? They are obviously cheaper to buy. Where is the cheapest place to buy?
Thanks

No they are different.

They are shaped differently.

I believe PG Classics makes the 70-71 style. Might be sold through their retailers. You can buy from them direct.

OK well I'll answer

70/1 and 72/4 actually have slightly different valences.

The 70-1 has small tabs with screw holes to attach the aluminum trim that was used on some cars. The trim is one the SE models but not too many others.

The 72-4 has additional tabs with slots because the bigger plastic trim bolted to the valence

The 70-1 trim can attach to any year valence.

The 72-74 trim cannot attach to a 70/1 valence

All 70-71 A63 molding option Challengers got the valence molding.

Dan made this for 1970’s. The 1971 have the same moldings EXCEPT the rear molding.

I found a 1972 one on Ebay it was a member here who lives in Fl. It was a 2 part one. What I needed for 1970. I did not need the whole valance. I asked if he would sperate nope. So I bid and won. He said I had to take the whole thing. So would not ship just the molding that he said was mint. Packed the whole thing up with both parts. When I g0t it he lied and the moldings were beaten and had to be redone. So I paid for a valance and the moldings only to get screwed It kills me when I see home post and it has been many years. Though. He did say that the 2 part one was original to that car. Ok, enough about that! Maybe it was early 1972?
